Diggin Time exists because there wasn’t a single place that captured the full scope of the digging culture: vinyl sessions, digging travelogues, interviews, and the stories behind the pressings. We wanted to build a platform that houses it all under one roof, documented simply by and for people who dig.
We aren't interested in nostalgia. We are here for the "un"—the undiscovered grooves, the unplayed pressings, and the unbelievable stories of the artists behind the analog sound. Whether we are in a shop in Prague or a flea market on the other side of the world, our mission is to connect a global community of selectors and share the find.
Meet the people behind Diggin Time.
DJ Magič
The story of DigginTime begins with DJ Magič, a devoted vinyl collector whose journey started nearly two decades ago. His obsession with records grew from chopping samples for hip-hop beats—a practice that naturally led him deep into the crates of jazz, funk, and soul.
Magič is no stranger to music curation. Between 2008 and 2015, he founded and led a music magazine. This editorial experience shapes the soul of Diggin Time, adding a storyteller’s depth to every record store visit, artist interview, and the "Story Of" video series, where he uncovers the fascinating history behind selected vinyl records.
His DJ sets are a seamless blend of European rare grooves, Brazilian gems, jazz, funk, soul, reggae and dub, Afro-Latin rhythms, or hip-hop. Through Diggin Time, Magič continues to document global digging culture—sharing the torch with a community of DJs, producers, and collectors who know that the best music isn't found on a digital playlist.
Diggin Time DJs
DigginTime is a growing community of like-minded selectors. Among our closest allies is the duo Kohl & Ben, whose passion for flea market digging has become their trademark. They’ve also found a home at Studio Paměť in Prague, a key space for many of our vinyl sessions.
Our connection with the local scene is also deeply rooted in Phono.cz. DJ Alberto and the shop's owner, Martin Mikuláš, are vital supporters of the project.
Last but not least, we quite often team up at joint events and vinyl sessions with other DJs like Red One and Ypsilonka. We also deeply value the connections we've built with international DJs who have recorded truly unique guest mixes for us, such as Suomisettii from Finland or Nyboe from Denmark.
